MANNY PACQUIAO Vs. MARCO ANTONIO BARRERA

On Closed Circuit-Pay Per View
THE BOUT
Superstars Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera will collide in a 12-round super featherweight title fight, Saturday, October 6. Promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, the Pacquiao-Barrera championship rumble will take place at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino and broadcast live on HBO Pay-Per-View.
Pacquiao-Barrera is a battle between legendary three-division world champions. Pacquiao (44-3-2, 35 KO's), of General Santos City, The Philippines, defeated Barrera (63-5, 42 KO's), of Mexico City, Mexico, in their exciting first encounter in 2003, claiming the 'Baby Face Assassin's' featherweight title. Pacquiao is considered by many as boxing's pound for pound most exciting fighter.
"Fighting Barrera is a career highlight for me," said Pacquiao. "He has already beaten great world champions like Erik Morales, Naseem Hamed and Johnny Tapia and I know I am going to have to train harder than I ever have before to beat him. But I am fully prepared to sacrifice and do everything necessary to beat him. And I will. It's going to be another great night for fight fans."
"Pacquiao and I have one thing in common and that is this is the fight we have most wanted," said Barrera. "But Pacquiao should have been more careful for what he wished for because he is going to be in the fight of his life. The battle is on and I am going to leave the ring as boxing's new No. 1 pound for pound fighter."
"This fight is what the fans have been asking for and I'm excited that we will be able to deliver this bout between these two all-time great champions," said Oscar de la Hoya, President of Golden Boy Promotions.
"For Manny Pacquiao this is an essential fight so he can demonstrate, once and for all, that he is the king of the division," said Bob Arum, CEO, Top Rank.
"Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera are both legendary fighters and national heroes in their homelands, who continually seek out the biggest challenges," said HBO Pay-Per-View's Mark Taffet. "Boxing fans love these matchups of 'best vs. best' and are in for real treat on October 6."
Dubbed "Republica Enemy No. 1," Pacquiao has blitzed through the best fighters Mexico had to offer since 2003, including Morales (KO 3, TKO 10), Barrera (TKO 11), Oscar Larios (W 12), Emanuel Lucero (TKO 3), Hector Velazquez (TKO 6) and Jorge Solis (KO 8). The only "blemish" was a draw against Juan Manuel Marquez in 2004, where Pacquiao sent Marquez to the canvas three times in the first round.
Pacquiao was named "2006 Fighter of the Year" by the Boxing Writers Association of America and The Ring magazine for his two spectacular knockout victories of Mexican icon and three-division champion Erik Morales and his dominating 12-round unanimous decision over former world champion and current No. 1 contender Oscar Larios. The hard-hitting southpaw has only lost once in his last 21 bouts, a close decision in 2005 to Morales in their first encounter.
Known as "Baby Faced Assassin", Barrera has provided boxing fans with more exciting moments than anyone of his era. In his own world championship trilogy against Erik Morales, fought in three different weight divisions, Barrera proved to be the better man twice. Those fights alone garnered him numerous accolades from The Ring, including "Fight of the Year" (2000, 2004), "Round of the Year" (5th in 2000, 11th in 2004) and "Comeback of the Year" (2004).
Barrera has never avoided a worthy challenge and his resume is a testament to a future Hall of Fame career. He has defeated many of the top fighters in his divisions, including current or former world champions Morales and Naseem Hamed, both undefeated when he faced them. Robbie Peden, Paulie Ayala, Kevin Kelley, Johnny Tapia, Enrique Sanchez, Jesus Salud, Jesse Benavides, Kennedy McKinney, Agapito Sanchez, Franki Toledo, Daniel Jimenez, and Eddie Cook. In a streak that started in December 2000, with the Salud fight and lasted for four years, Marco fought nine current or former world champions in a row.
Barrera made his professional debut in 1989 and won his first world title in 1995, dethroning WBO jr. featherweight champion Daniel Jimenez, the beginning of three separate reigns as that champion. In 2001, he tagged the undefeated IBO featherweight champion Hamed with his only career loss via a dominating unanimous decision. One year later, he added Morales' WBC featherweight title to his trophy case, avenging a previous loss while spoiling Morales' perfect record which had endured nine years and 42 bouts. Barrera would win the rubber match in 2004, while claiming Morales WBC super featherweight championship belt.

Boy you finna get hurt, murked, put him in the dirt...
For sure it's a pride thing... You feel the punches, you duck when he ducks... you dodge, you swing, you hurt if he falls, you jump for joy when he puts the other dude down... Manny Pacquiao, better know as "Pacman the Destroyer", has won the hearts of the filipino people by proving to be one of the greatest fighters to step in the ring.
Pacquiao, Ring Magazines 2006 Boxer of the year, is pound for pound one of the most exciting fighters to watch. This man is so fierce... I've seen Pacman get knocked down, get up, and win the bout TKO...
For the Second time in his career, Pacquiao will be facing Barrera at the MGM grand on October 6, 2007. The first battle was an amazing Pacquiao victory...
So it comes down to the second time around...
So as I sit here, anticipating the weekends event, there are only two outcomes that can take place. One, Pacquiao wins and I go around town, showing off filipino pride.
OR, two, Im hiding out for the next month...
Pac, bring the Light Featherweight World Championship back home...

Follow My Lead, I'll Hold You Down, Put Your Trust In Me...
As you can see, I've been posting a little more often. Things just happen so fast that sometimes, there's no time to look back.
On my mind at the moment:
So it's been almost 2 weeks now since the release of the hyped Kanyeezy and 50 Cent albums.
Sound scan has shown that both albums have had ridiculous numbers. Which is good and bad for the music industry. The Good side: PEOPLE STILL BUY GOOD MUSIC. Even though there is the ability to download everything and anything on the web, PEOPLE will show support for GOOD music. The Bad side: the music industry as a whole is a plummeting fireball, and industry suits don't understand that people will not fall for the bullshit. For decades the record industry has devised a business model that is volume = $$$. The more that's out there, the more $$$ is attained. Consumers have gotten smart to this, and are now learning... Example, who out there really spent their $12.99 on a William Hung album??? The Industry Suits are putting out anything and everything to make a fast buck... There's no more QUALITY is what's coming out. And now that 50 and Yee have released, these old industry suits will think that the market is back on the up swing. THAT IS NOT THE CASE... The reason that 50 and Yee have sold the way they do is because they release QUALITY music!!! Until the industry hits rock bottom, these suits will never learn that as a consumer, we have gotten smarter then expected. As Kanyeezy put it: "Cuz we don't wanna here that weak shit no mo'".
Finally, My opinion on the 50 vs Yeezy, I'm not going to lie, Kanyee's that dude, but this time, the 50 album is a better packaged and produced album... but that's just my opinion....

You got to Remember...
It's been 6 years, but I still remember exactly where I was when the 2 towers got hit.... I was sitting at work, when I got the call, and I closed up the shop to go home and absorb the day’s events...
I have my Brother Angelo and My boy Rich representing Canada, and doing what they do out in Afghanistan! Myself, Angelo, rich and Tommy, we all joined the military together and served under The Black Watch Highland Regiment of Canada. We trained so hard, you would never believe the extent that the military put us thru...
My brother Angelo is running shit out there, letting people know how things are done...
It shocking on how much 9/11 has changed us...
On a side note, I'd like to thank God for Saving My brother Edgar... Last Saturday he got in a pretty bad car accident, where someone cut him off and he had our Durango flip... I’m just thankful that Edgar and Chloe are ok without any major injuries... As for El Durango, it's a write off, but we thank El Durango for the good times...
And as a ritual... as you've notices in previous post, I've been dropping a music video symbolizing my mood at that specific time... And at this time, with all the blessings that God has given us... I want to thank him for the GOODLIFE I have been blessed with...

A little Late, but for a dude that Used to Ride a Billy Ruff G&S, This isn't a CRIME...
I used to Skate down my street, no worries, Ollie here, KickFlip there, grind the curb.... you know, everyday business for me as a Kid... I had 2 other dudes i used to skate with all the time, and at times our skate crew would be about 14-16 deep.
Our daily mission was either building ramps, or going off ramps. My buddy Chris had his dad build a half pipe in his backyard which constituted for quite a few bumps and bruises till my Momz made me wear rectors. Skating was IT. It was fun, it was life, it was a piece of wood, with 4 wheels that we tried to master every trick on. So please explain to me why in the world this is still happening??? Please Read, And Hopefully It will open your eyes and send out your disgust to the proper contacts on the bottom of this page...

Hot Springs, Arkansas: Police Brutality on Go Skateboarding
A police officer in Hot Springs, Arkansas, was photographed actually choking a thirteen-year old boy before arresting him, and several others (which was captured on video), seemingly for... skateboarding.
A video is circulating the likes of MySpace and YouTube wherein several young boys- and one girl- in Hot Springs, Arkansas, decided to celebrate Go Skateboarding Day. While skateboarding downtown, one was arrested- and it appears to be because he was skateboarding.
One youth took a picture of the Officer Joey Williams on top of thirteen year old Jarad Graham, who was facing up, and Williams has his hand around the boy's throat. After handcuffing the child, he chased the person who took the photograph, leaving the child in handcuffs. Williams later comes back, takes the child to speak with him away from his friends, and tells the boy he was in violation of city ordinance and resisting arrest... resisting arrest for what? WHY was he arrested in the first place?
When his friends come to listen, Officer Williams tells them all to go away, and that they're all in violation of city ordinance as well. He then proceeds to arrest several more people, taking the video camera and setting it on the sidewalk.
The video can be viewed and dowloaded here:

I was able to reach the mayor, Mr. Mike Bush, for comment just moments ago, and was told that directly after the incident, the officer in the video was placed on administrative leave (with full pay). They are currently in the process of investigating the incident, speaking with more than 40 witnesses including bystanders and downtown merchants in the area.
"Until the investigation is complete," he told me, "we're unable to make any conclusions about what happened." When I asked him about the video, he told me he had seen it. "It's awful," Bush said. "It looks just terrible."
Remember, folks. SKATEBOARDING IS NOT A CRIME.
ARRESTED: Jarad Graham, Drew Irwin, Matt McCormack, Skylar Nalls, Robbie Brindley, and Casey Canturbury.
